The Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber beef has been brewing for weeks, and it’s starting to look like it’s never going to end. But the pair have been pushed to breaking point as fans continue to sling mud and hurl abuse at both women online. In a desperate plea for peace, Selena took to Instagram to ask fans to stop sending death threats to Hailey, saying: “This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop.”
But Selena’s plea fell on deaf ears as Bieber’s close friend Justine Skye received a barrage of abuse, including shocking racial slurs, from anonymous numbers and emails. Skye took to Twitter to vent her frustration, saying: “What the hell do you want [to] happen next. For us to kill ourselves!? You’re probably going to find something wrong with this too I’m sure but go ahead.”

Conflict resolution expert Damali Peterman warned Rolling Stone earlier this month about the dangers of toxic femininity in these types of situations, saying: “These conflicts have the ability to be crippling, even if they’re just if they’re not in their face, but rather at a distance to technology.”
It’s time for fans to back off and let Selena and Hailey resolve their differences in peace. After all, there’s no need to tear each other down when we could be building each other up.
